Travel to Spain

Who has not dreamed of a vacation in Spain? Indeed, with its many picturesque landscapes, charming villages, crystal-clear beaches of white sand, colonial architecture, and vibrantly-coloured monuments, Spain is the answer to your travel dreams and offers you the perfect vacation. Here are some things you must not miss if you're one of the lucky ones going on a trip to Spain.

Madrid, the Capital

When you think of Spain, it's capital of Madrid automatically comes to mind. People visit Madrid especially to see its monuments of colonial architecture and wrought-iron balconies, to walk its cobblestone streets dotted with small shops, restaurants, tapas bars, and cafes, to visit its many museums and art galleries, and especially to soak up the Spanish atmosphere and discover the true culture of the country. Indeed, Madrid has all it takes to allow you to experience Spanish culture. The city is full of palaces, cathedrals, and historical places worth visiting.

The Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol

Among the spots that you simply must visit in Madrid is the Plaza Mayor, the perfect place to sip a coffee on a terrace under the sun, to learn a bit of Spanish history by touring the Royal Palace, and marvel at the frescoes of the Casa de la Panaderia and the architecture of the Almudena Cathedral.

La Puerta del Sol, a gigantic lively square that never sleeps, nestled in the heart of Madrid, must also be seen at all costs, particularly between the tourist regions of Campo del Moro on the north and Parque del Buen Retiro on the east. It includes a multitude of shops, cafes, and restaurants. This is a great first stop to get to know the city.

Barcelona

A trip to Spain means seeing Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, considered by many to be one of the country's most beautiful cities. And for very good reasons, since it offers tourists 4.5 kilometres of white-sandy beaches along the Mediterranean coast, dotted with palm trees ... all only a few minutes from downtown.

Both locals and tourists go there to relax in the sun, to swim in idyllic waters, windsurf, kitesurf, or enjoy a drink on a terrace. Barceloneta Beach is among the most popular and busy beaches of Spain.

La Rambla

Effervescent and cosmopolitan, Barcelona is full of shops, restaurants, bars, museums, and historical monuments to visit. Its cobblestone streets are alive both day and night, especially La Rambla, the most popular avenue in the entire country. So, if you want to experience a trip or a vacation in Spain that is out of the ordinary and exciting, then you must go to Barcelona, the country's second largest city.

Among the other must-see attractions in Barcelona are the majestic Sagrada Familia Church with its colourful cupolas. This UNESCO World Heritage Site will surprise you with its spectacular and unique architecture. It is the most visited monument in Spain.

The Most Beautiful Villages

In addition to its magnificent, vibrant, and cosmopolitan cities, too numerous to be listed here – although it is worth mentioning Valencia, Toledo, and Granada – Spain is a popular destination for travellers because of its charming small colonial and fortified villages located along the coast or perched on mountain summits. The surrounding landscapes are very beautiful and worth experiencing.

The Village  of Alquézar

Such is the case of the spectacular medieval village of Alquézar in Aragon, whose castle, declared a historical and national monument, is perched at the top of a huge rock 660 metres above sea level. The complex architecture is marked by steep streets, verdant scenery, medieval monuments, and the beauty of the ninth-century fortress, the Joyau of Alquézar.

The Emblematic Village of Peniscola

On a rocky peninsula along the Costa del Azahar, in the province of Castellon, sleeps the sublime fortified village of Peniscola, of breathtaking beauty. Surrounded by water, the village is a dream with its seven kilometres of beach, its white houses with balconies overflowing with flowers, and walls reflecting different periods of Spanish history. This is one of the most beautiful places of Spain, so, if you have the chance to get there, don't miss it!

The Canary Islands

This little corner of paradise is full of wonders to discover and majestic landscapes that will leave you breathless with admiration. Indeed, the Canary Islands, which are part of one of 17 autonomous Spanish communities, are a “must” for anyone who wants to experience a dream trip to Spain.

Consisting of seven isles, the Canary Islands are the perfect place to get away from the pressures back home while enjoying enchanting scenery, dotted with blue-water beaches and natural wonders you will not find anywhere else.

Besides sunbathing at the beach, the Canary Islands offer you a multitude of activities, such as diving, golf, mountain climbing, exploring the fauna and flora, and hiking in idyllic landscapes, including volcanoes, sand dunes, and lava fields.

This travel destination is also perfect for food lovers as it is full of places where you can enjoy traditional Canarian cuisine, such as vegetable soups and stews with papas, the emblematic dish of the Canary Islands.

Ibiza

Finally, we couldn't talk about a trip to Spain without mentioning Ibiza, an island paradise, which is also part of one of Spain's autonomous communities. Located in the Mediterranean Sea, it is one of the most beautiful places in Spain, as well as in the entire world, and is a perfect destination for partying. So, if you have the chance, take a flight to Madrid and fly from there to Ibiza!
