Anguilla
Anguilla is a British overseas territory located at the level of the Caribbean. It is one of the smaller West Indian islands. It is located north of Saint Martin and east of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Anguilla is a perfect tourist destination with a natural area very popular with tourists. The Anguilla archipelago is made up of the main island of Anguilla and other small islands and islets. The territory is represented by a governor appointed by the monarchy of England.
History
The Caribbean Indians and the Arawak were the first populations on this island. The first Spanish settlers gave it the name Anguilla. The elongated shape of the island certainly justifies the name given to it. In the 17th century, the English colony settled on Anguilla Island. The latter operates in the export of salt, cotton and tobacco. However, the arid soils did not allow for a great development of agriculture. The population experienced a decrease in the 19th century.
In 1967, England decided to reunite the island of Anguilla with the islands of Nevis and Saint Kitts. However, a revolt by the Anguillians allowed the island to get rid of the English settlers after 2 years of negotiations. In Anguilla, the 1967 revolution is commemorated on May 31 of each year.
Culture
The population of Anguilla Island is estimated at around 12,800. The official language is English and the other language spoken on this island is English Anguilla Creole. The majority of the islanders come from Africa, others are of Irish descent.
Different religions are present in Anguilla. There are thus Catholics, Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, Evangelists, etc.

Rendezvous Bay
It is a true 3 km paradise with calm waters and a very peaceful setting. You can go there any day of the week. If you want to fully enjoy the calm, avoid Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays as the live music of dune Préserve attracts a lot of people.
Dune Preserve
This is a place where you will find singer Bankie Banx running a restaurant and lounge. You can go there during the day just as you can take a tour in the evening to enjoy the night life of the island. Bankie Banx is an artist who came to his home after his career as a musician and on tour. The Dune Preserve is full of people at lunchtime. During the week, Banx organizes parties where he entertains the guests.
