Trip to St-Kitts
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a state which is located in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean region. It is made up of two islands associated in a federation which are Saint Kitts and Nevis. With an area of 261 km2, Saint Kitts and Nevis is the smallest country in North America. The capital of the federation is located on the island of Saint-Christophe and bears the name of Basseterre. The island of Nevis is located 3 km south of the island of Saint Kitts.
History
In 1493, the famous explorer Christopher Columbus arrived on the island. In 1538, the island was colonized by French Huguenots before being driven out by the Spaniards. In 1624, the English captain Thomas Warner founded an English colony near the island and with good understanding. After a long wait, the English settlers slaughter the inhabitants of the Caribbean. And afterwards, a French colony settled on Tortoise Island. Then France and Great Britain continued to dispute the land of Saint Christopher and in 1713 it was under the control of Great Britain. It was in 1967 that Saint Kitts and Nevis joined forces with Anguilla with full internal autonomy. But Anguilla rebelled and subsequently obtained the right to secede.
The economy
Saint Kitts and Nevis is a federation which brings together two islands whose main economic activities remain tourism, agriculture and a somewhat light manufacturing industry. Sugar was highly developed there, but with the rise in international market prices, the activity suffered a considerable decline. The government subsequently tried to reduce dependence on this sector, which led to a real diversification of activities in the agricultural sector. It was in 2005 that the government decided to close the sugar company after a large budget deficit and considerable losses.

It is a stratovolcano on the island of Saint Kitts and Nevis which is located in the western part of the island of Saint Kitts. It is the highest point of the country. The site offers a view and a pleasant place to discover volcanic peaks. The Mount is also bordered by a cloud forest.
