A two-hundred-berth ship that takes only a hundred and forty into the ice

World Voyager left the WestSea yard, at Viana do Castelo in Portugal, and entered service in 2021. Nine thousand nine hundred and thirty-four gross tons, 126 metres long by 19 wide, eight decks, 98 cabins. Two hundred guests on paper, 117 crew, and capacity drops to 140 the moment she enters polar waters. She is she first sailed for nicko cruises before joining Atlas.

The hull is ice-strengthened, class 1B. Propulsion is hybrid diesel-electric: two Rolls-Royce Bergen engines and two SCHOTTEL pump jets that let her move in silence at five knots. That detail is not cosmetic. In front of a glacier or a pod of whales, propeller noise changes what you will see.

What the fare covers

This line makes a precise bet on what goes in the fare: it pays your flight. Included are round-trip air from selected US and Canadian gateways, prepaid gratuities, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Wi-Fi, one complimentary shore excursion, a butler in the suites and binoculars aboard. For a traveller flying from Montréal to Ushuaia, the airfare is not a footnote in the budget.

The other school
