How many ships and departures do you carry for Silversea?

Fifteen entries in our inventory — 15 exactly — and 949 distinct departures across 558 dates and 733 routes, from 23 July 2026 to 26 April 2029. It is the furthest-reaching calendar of our three luxury fleets.

Do all the ships have departures?

No, three carry none on our calendar: Silver Discoverer, Silver Explorer and Silver Galapagos. Silver Explorer was to sail for the new line Exploris from 2023. For the other two we have no source establishing what became of them, and we will not write it.

Royal Caribbean Group, which took a majority stake on 14 June 2018 and full ownership in July 2020. The house was founded in 1994 by the Vlasov Group, of Monaco, and Antonio Lefebvre d'Ovidio, of Rome. The head office has stayed in Monaco.

What is Silver Origin?

The Galápagos ship, and that is all she does. With 121 records she is the third busiest in the fleet with us. A ship dedicated to one archipelago, with the crew and permits that go with it, is not the same thing as a ship passing through.

Which is the newest ship?

Silver Ray, delivered in 2024, of the house's most recent class along with Silver Nova. She carries 134 records with us, just behind Silver Whisper with 141 — a ship from 2001. The new one does not take all the room here.

Seven hundred and thirty-three routes for fifteen ships — is that a lot?

It is a high ratio, and it describes a fleet that repeats little: Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Galápagos and polar expedition. In practice, two departures on the same ship may share no port at all. Read the route before the ship's name.

Are these ships small?

Yes, in the sense the luxury trade means: a few hundred people, not a few thousand. That opens ports large ships cannot approach, and it closes the door on what a large ship offers — the choice of restaurants, the shows, the children's activities. It is a trade, not a superiority.

What does the fare cover?

We will not say it in the line's place. What the fare covers changes here from one departure, market and cabin grade to the next, and we have not measured it departure by departure. Ask your advisor for the written list of the exact departure before booking, not after.

How do you count a departure?

One ship on one date. If the same ship leaves on the same day, that is one departure, not two. Our database holds more records than departures, and what we publish is the number of departures.

Are these the line's figures?

No. Everything given here — number of hulls, number of departures, dates, routes — comes from OUR inventory, measured on 31 August. A zero with us is not a zero with them.

Can I book a departure you do not carry?

Often, yes. Your advisor can look beyond what appears here. The online catalogue is a way in, not the limit of what exists.

Is service available in French?

It depends on the departure and the market, not on the line. If French matters to you, say so before booking: it is checked departure by departure.

Can two ships carry the same name?

Yes, and it happens often in this trade: a line reuses the name of a ship it sold for a new hull. That is why we keep pages online for ships that have left, with what became of them. Without those, a search leads to the wrong ship.

Should I book far ahead?

On small ships, yes: few cabins, and the best go early. On large ones it is the cabin's location rather than the space itself that is decided early. Talk cancellation terms through with your advisor before you decide.

Who protects me if the trip falls through?

Your agency, and it alone. Voyages AquaTerra operates under a licence from Quebec's Office de la protection du consommateur, your payments pass through a trust account, and the compensation fund for travel agency clients covers your departure. That holds whichever line you choose.
