From Port Canaveral, Florida, year-round. Glory has been based there since April 2024, after a long stint in New Orleans. The format is short: 3 nights on Fridays to Celebration Key, and 4 nights adding Nassau plus a second private beach, Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays. Only one 5-night sailing appears on the calendar, in January 2027.
2,980 at double occupancy, and 3,806 at absolute maximum. That makes Glory the least dense of the four ships in this group when fully loaded: its maximum is 160 lower than Conquest and 269 lower than Freedom. It has 1,490 staterooms, including 26 adapted for reduced mobility, and 1,150 crew.
A dry dock from April 25 to May 11, 2026, at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport. Two concrete additions: a fully non-smoking casino, which addresses the most common complaint about this ship, and a rebuilt Club O2 teen space. Glory resumed Port Canaveral departures on May 22, 2026. Staterooms were not rebuilt during that visit.
Yes. The WaterWorks park was installed on the Panorama deck during the February-March 2017 dry dock, with two slides. That is a genuine difference from the Carnival Conquest, its Miami twin, which never received one. Add three pools, seven whirlpools and a nine-hole mini-golf course: for a 3- or 4-night trip with young children, the equipment is enough.
Yes, a collision. In December 2019 at Cozumel, Glory struck the Carnival Legend during a docking manoeuvre; six people suffered minor injuries. The damage was repaired and the ship returned to normal service. Do not confuse this incident with the funnel fires on the Carnival Freedom, a different ship in the same class.
Astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, christened her in 2003. She died in 2012. That sponsorship explains a few space references in the original decor, but successive refits in 2017, 2021, 2024 and 2026 have erased most of them. Do not promise a space-themed ship: the current interior is standard Carnival.

Yes, in places. The ship was delivered in 2003 and its decor keeps the loud early-2000s aesthetic that many travellers find busy. Wear shows mostly on some outdoor decks. On the other hand, every balcony door and window was replaced in 2024, bedside lighting was modernized with USB outlets, and the casino has been non-smoking since 2026.
Your accumulated days do not transfer on their own. Carnival Rewards takes effect on September 1, 2026, replacing the former program; you must accept enrollment in your Carnival account before that date to keep your recognition. The new calculation is based on dollars spent with Carnival, not on nights sailed alone. Settle this before you leave Port Canaveral.
Yes. Camp Ocean takes ages 2 to 11 in three age bands with supervised activities from morning to evening; ages 12 to 14 go to Circle C and 15 to 17 to Club O2, rebuilt in 2026. Swim diapers are not accepted: children who are not toilet trained cannot use the pools, only the designated splash areas.
Through Orlando. Nonstop flights connect Montréal-Trudeau to Orlando International year-round, and Port Canaveral is about an hour's drive away. This is the only ship of the four whose home port pairs easily with a theme-park stay: three or four nights at sea before or after a week in Orlando, with no second flight.
Yes. Carnival adds a daily service charge per person to the onboard account, children included, unless you prepay it at booking. On top of that come drinks, specialty restaurants, internet, casino and shore excursions. Everything settles through the onboard account, backed by a credit card. Ask for an interim statement before disembarkation to avoid surprises.
Unlikely on its short itineraries. The 3- and 4-night runs from Port Canaveral stay in sheltered Bahamian waters and the 110,000-ton ship is stabilized. The Gulf Stream crossing on the first night can be lively. If you are sensitive, pick a midship cabin on a lower deck and take medication before boarding, not after symptoms start.
Midship, deck 7 or 8, for the best balance of stability and quiet. Avoid cabins directly under the pool deck or above the show lounges, where noise carries early and late. Conquest-class balconies are deeper than on many newer ships. Interior cabins have no window and are genuinely dark, which some travellers love and others cannot tolerate.
Rarely. The unlimited package must be bought for every adult in the cabin and for the full length of the voyage, which makes it hard to justify over three nights, two of which include a port day ashore. Non-alcoholic packages or paying per drink suit short formats better. Run the numbers with your travel counsellor first.
