Because it burns liquefied natural gas. MSC Euribia is the line's second LNG-powered ship, with four Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines, two Azipod propulsion units and shore-power capability. LNG cuts sulphur oxides and particulates sharply compared with heavy fuel oil, but it remains a fossil fuel, so calling MSC Euribia a clean ship overstates the case.
A four-day demonstration. From June 3 to 8, 2023 MSC Euribia sailed Saint-Nazaire to Copenhagen claiming net-zero greenhouse gas emissions using bio-LNG accounted for under ISCC-certified mass balance, meaning the fuel was bought into the network rather than necessarily burned on board. The ship beat its digital twin by 11 percent and saved 43 tonnes of fuel.
A fare discount from the day you join, then benefits rising through Welcome, Classic, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Blue Diamond: priority boarding, an onboard gift, spa and boutique savings, and a specialty restaurant meal at the top tiers. Points accrue by experience booked and cruise length. MSC also matches outside cruise or hotel status once.
Northern Europe, then the Mediterranean. MSC Euribia resumed Kiel and Copenhagen departures on May 16, 2026 for Norwegian fjord itineraries calling at Hellesylt, Ålesund and Flåm, running to mid-October. Winter 2026-2027 moves it to the Mediterranean out of Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Naples and Palermo, with a return to Kiel in April 2027.
Through Copenhagen or Hamburg. Copenhagen takes one European connection from Montreal, occasionally nonstop in peak season, and Kiel sits about ninety minutes from Hamburg by train. Book a hotel night before boarding MSC Euribia, because transatlantic flights land in the morning and jet lag has to go somewhere.
Around 4,800 guests at double occupancy and up to 6,327 when every berth is sold. MSC lists MSC Euribia at 184,011 gross tons, 331 metres by 43, with 19 decks of which 15 are open to guests, 2,419 cabins including 60 accessible ones, and 1,711 crew. It is the largest of the Meraviglia family.
LNG propulsion, first of all. MSC Euribia also carries what MSC calls the fleet's longest LED-domed Galleria, the MSC Foundation Youth Centre devoted to ocean science, the Ocean Cay Aquapark and a painted hull. Its Yacht Club holds 103 suites against 95 on MSC Virtuosa.
It is a competition-winning artwork. German artist Alex Flämig won with #SaveTheSea, chosen from 59 entries by an international jury. The design shows an underwater world extending into birds, leaves and a globe to link ocean health with life ashore, and MSC Euribia carries it along the full length of the hull.
More than in the Caribbean. MSC publishes in six main languages including French and orders them by how many guests each group represents. On Kiel and Copenhagen departures German leads by a wide margin with English behind it. During the Mediterranean season, French becomes markedly more present aboard MSC Euribia.
Anyone who wants a ship within the ship. The 103 Yacht Club suites on MSC Euribia come with a panoramic lounge, a private restaurant and sundeck, a butler on call and the Premium Extra drinks package. On a fjord itinerary the glazed private solarium earns its keep, because Norway is not the Caribbean.
Yes, cool weather included. MSC Euribia devotes seven rooms to young guests, from Baby Club Chicco for 6 months to 3 years through Teens Club for 15 to 17, with LEGO spaces covering ages 3 to 11 and the MSC Foundation Youth Centre. The retractable-roof pool rescues rainy Norwegian days. After-hours childcare is charged.
Crowding and selling. Reviews describe more people than places at peak hours, service that swings by venue, and repeated upselling even for guests who already bought a package. Some report awkward cabin assignments close to machinery spaces. The kids' clubs on MSC Euribia, by contrast, draw consistent praise.
Mid-June through late August for light and relative warmth. MSC Euribia operates from Kiel and Copenhagen between May and mid-October, and the shoulder weeks bring rain, wind and open decks nobody uses. Pack layers, a proper rain shell and closed shoes rather than the sandals a Caribbean cruise would call for.
Depending on the tier: cocktails, spirits, wine and beer by the glass, specialty coffee, soft drinks and bottled water, gratuities included, with a value ceiling per drink and a fifteen alcoholic drink daily cap. Alcohol-free and minors' packages exist. Every adult sharing a cabin on MSC Euribia must take the same one.
A midship balcony is the general answer. In the fjords the side matters little, since MSC Euribia turns in both directions and the best views come from the open decks anyway. Ocean-view cabins without a balcony make sense in Northern Europe, where you spend less time outside. Under Bella, MSC assigns your cabin number.
