Ten square metres, and we print it large
CroisiEurope publishes cabin size for this boat: 10 m² for standard cabins, and 18 m² for the single suite. Ten square metres is the floor for CroisiEurope's European river ships, level with the MS Botticelli. The hotel barges in the same fleet go lower still, to 8 m², and the Nile dahabieh publishes 9.5 m². It is also roughly half an entry-level ocean cruise cabin.
Better read here than discovered on opening the door. In exchange, the boat berths in the heart of Strasbourg, Speyer and Rüdesheim, and you will only be sleeping in it. A traveller for whom the cabin matters should aim for the suite, or look at the MS Seine Princess and its suites of 18 to 20 m².
The same hull as two other boats, with fifty more passengers
CroisiEurope built three boats on the 110 m by 10.10 m template. The MS Camargue carries 104, the MS Douce France 107, and La Bohème 154. Fifty more passengers inside exactly the same volume of steel: that is where the 10 m² comes from. It is neither good nor bad, it is a trade-off, and it is better known before signing.
Two decks, so no lift
CroisiEurope fits lifts only to its three-deck boats. La Bohème has two, so she has none. The restaurant is on the upper deck with panoramic windows, and so is the lounge bar with its dance floor. A main deck guest will climb the stairs at every meal. For reduced mobility, look at a three-deck boat such as the MS Beethoven.
Where she sails in 2026
Four programmes, all from Strasbourg. The romantic Rhine valley in 5 days to Koblenz, on 18 August and 22 October. The potters' route with the Royal Palace show in 4 days, on 29 November and 6 December. The Alsatian Christmas markets in 4 days, on 27 November and 3 December. And a romantic Christmas on the Rhine in 5 days via Braubach, Rüdesheim and Speyer, on 22 December.
Strasbourg has no non-stop flight from Montreal-Trudeau. Plan a connection through Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels or Amsterdam, all served non-stop from Montreal. On a 4-day programme that transit day weighs: build it into the arithmetic.
What the fare includes and what it does not
Included: full board, drinks with meals and at the bar, Wi-Fi, port taxes and onboard entertainment. Not included: shore excursions, gratuities, the premium wine list and transfers. On the Christmas programmes, the visits carry most of the content.
Who this boat is not for
Anyone who cannot manage stairs. Anyone who needs space in the cabin, since 10 m² is a published reality and not a theoretical floor. Anyone after quiet, since 154 passengers on 110 m make her one of the busiest in the fleet. Anyone expecting a 5-anchor rating, since she is rated 4.
