At the Dale R. Lindsey intermodal terminal at the head of Resurrection Bay. The pier is literally the end of the railway: this is where the Alaska Railroad meets the Pacific, and trains sometimes wait at the foot of the gangway.
Yes. The flat, compact downtown is about fifteen minutes’ walk along the shore; shuttles also cover the route. On the way, the small fishing harbour lines up its charter boats and sea otters surface between the hulls.
A wildlife cruise in Resurrection Bay fills the half day, rounded off with a walk through town. Failing that, the Alaska SeaLife Center and the downtown murals fill the time with no risk of running late.

Yes, Exit Glacier, about twenty minutes away by road in the Harding Icefield section of the park. An interpretive trail leads to it, with markers showing how far the glacier front has retreated decade by decade.
Seward marks mile zero of the Iditarod National Historic Trail, the dog sled route into the interior. The town also runs the Mount Marathon race every 4 July, contested for more than a century on brutally steep slopes.
