Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres at a glance

Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres welcomed its first guests on December 12, 2025, on the beach at Costa Mujeres, north of Cancún, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. All 605 rooms are suites, sold on an all-inclusive basis. The resort lives in two halves separated by a natural fence: The Club, for guests 18 and over, which holds about three quarters of the suites, and the Family Club, where kids have their club, teens have theirs, and a whole water park waits for them. It is the younger sibling of Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, its immediate neighbour, with which it shares the spa.

Is it really all-inclusive?

Yes. Majestic sells the resort all-inclusive: buffets, à la carte restaurants, drinks at the bars, and Wi-Fi, free throughout the property. The chain's website also announces butler service for every guest, with exclusive lounges in each of the two sections.

What costs extra is short. Treatments at the Blossom Spa are paid, as is laundry. Quintana Roo also charges an environmental tax per person per night, payable directly at the hotel. The amount changes, so your advisor gives it to you at booking.

The Club or the Family Club: which side should you stay on?

Your whole stay depends on this choice. The Club welcomes guests 18 and over only. It has its own pools, six of them adults-only with Bali beds, and three swim-up bars. For a couple, a honeymoon or a group of friends, it is the natural pick: you enjoy the energy of a big resort without the noise of a waterslide.

The Family Club is built around children. The kids club and the teens club fill the days, and the Mayan Mystique water park, with its Tiny Tropics corner for toddlers, quickly becomes the centre of a six-year-old's world. Parents get the same class of suites as on the other side of the fence.

Which suite should you choose?

Here, the entry-level room is already a suite. The One Bedroom Suite with outdoor jacuzzi measures more than 90 m², according to Majestic. Higher up come ground-floor suites that open straight onto a pool, then suites with a rooftop terrace and a private plunge pool.

All of them have a Nespresso machine, a minibar, a wine cooler and a safe. The real question for your advisor is location: ocean view or garden view, and above all the section, since a Club suite cannot host a family travelling with a child.

The beach and the pools

The resort sits right on the beach at Costa Mujeres, a white-sand coast far less built up than Cancún's hotel zone. There are twelve pools spread between the two sections, plus the pools and slides of the water park on the family side.

As everywhere on Mexico's Caribbean coast, sargassum can wash up on the beach some weeks, mostly between late spring and late summer. Your advisor can tell you what they know of recent conditions before you set your dates.

Where to eat and drink?

Marketplace serves the international buffet, and Seaside, facing the sea, moves from a lunch buffet to à la carte service. For the rest, you change countries every night: La Rinascita for Italy, Kabuki for Japan and its teppanyaki, Don Jaume for Argentine-style grills, Fonda Santa Monica for Mexican cooking, Masala for India, Legends for an American-style sports night. L'Essence is the resort's gourmet table.

Two of these restaurants have a minimum age. La Rinascita is for guests 18 and over at both lunch and dinner, and L'Essence also sets an age limit that your advisor will confirm. As for bars, there are about a dozen, and Café Mexicano takes care of the morning espresso.

How do you get there from Quebec?

Cancún is one of the best-served sun destinations from Montreal, with direct flights of about four hours. On arrival, the resort is 35 km from Cancún International Airport, about 45 minutes by road heading north, away from the hotel zone. Packages from Air Canada Vacations, WestJet Vacations and Sunwing that feature this resort usually include the transfer; your advisor confirms it on your file.

For a tourist stay, Canadians enter Mexico with a passport valid for the whole trip. Rules can change, so check them on travel.gc.ca a few weeks before departure. To explore the rest of the area, see our Playa Mujeres guide.

Who it suits, and who it suits less

Majestic Mirage suits couples who want space and a large suite without giving up the buzz, and families looking for a real children's program in a brand-new resort. Food lovers find plenty too, with eight restaurants that truly change from one night to the next.

It suits less those who dream of walking to Cancún's bars and shops: Costa Mujeres is set apart, and every outing means a taxi or an excursion. A resort open for less than a year is also still in its break-in period, and service can be uneven in ways that recent reviews describe better than any brochure.

What to know before you book

The spa is in the neighbouring resort. The Blossom Spa and its cenote-inspired water circuit are at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, a few steps away. Your section is chosen at booking and shapes the whole stay. And if you are hesitating, compare with the neighbours on the same beach: Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, Finest Playa Mujeres or Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. Fans of the Mirage brand will also find it in the Dominican Republic, at Majestic Mirage Punta Cana.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The resort welcomed its first guests on December 12, 2025, as a soft opening, and Majestic celebrated its grand opening on January 15, 2026. That makes it one of the newest all-inclusives in the Cancún area. A resort this new offers spotless facilities, with a team still finishing its break-in period: your advisor passes on what recently returned clients report.
No. The Club is for guests 18 and over, with its own suites, pools and swim-up bars. A family travelling with a minor, teenagers included, stays in the Family Club, which has its kids club, teens club and water park. The section is set at booking, so choose it with your advisor before paying the deposit.
Treatments cost extra. The Blossom Spa is located at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, the neighbouring resort of the same chain, and Mirage guests have access to it. It features a water circuit inspired by the cenotes of the Yucatán. Massages and treatments are paid on site; in high season, book your time slots as soon as you arrive.
Yes, the Quintana Roo environmental tax, charged per person per night and payable directly at the hotel. The amount varies between sources and can change, which is why your advisor gives it to you at booking rather than showing it here. Spa treatments and laundry are also added to your bill if you use them.
Yes. Wi-Fi is free in the suites and in the public areas, according to the Air Canada Vacations and Sunwing listings. It is plenty for sharing water park photos, streaming a show in the evening or calling family back in Quebec. For demanding remote work, plan a mobile data package as a backup all the same.
Allow about 45 minutes for the 35 km between Cancún International Airport and Costa Mujeres. The road heads north, away from the hotel zone. Most packages sold by Canadian tour operators include the round-trip transfer between the airport and the resort; your advisor confirms it on your file before departure.
They are two neighbouring resorts of the same Mexican chain, Majestic Resorts, sharing the Blossom Spa. The Mirage, opened at the end of 2025, is the newer one: all 605 rooms are suites and it has a water park for families. To compare the two based on your holiday style and your children's ages, your advisor knows the strengths of each.
From December to April, the dry season brings the sunniest days and gentler heat, which also makes it the most popular period for departures from Quebec. From June to November is Atlantic hurricane season, with more heat, more humidity and a risk of sargassum on the beach. May and late November are often a good compromise.
For a tourist stay, a Canadian passport valid for the whole trip is enough, and no visa is required for Canadians. Entry rules can change, so check the Mexico page on travel.gc.ca a few weeks before departure. Your advisor also reminds you of the documents needed if you travel with a minor child.
Majestic announces butler service for every guest at Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, along with exclusive lounges in each of the two sections. At several resorts in the area, this kind of service is reserved for premium categories. What the butler handles can vary by suite, so your advisor details it for you before booking.
