Aunty's Beach House is included

Aunty's Beach House is Aulani's kids club, and it comes with the stay. This is not hourly paid childcare as at most resorts in the category: it is a supervised space children come and go from while their parents do something else.

Crafts, games, cultural activities and character appearances fill the day. The staff tell O'ahu as much as they entertain.

Have your advisor confirm age brackets and opening hours when booking — those are the two details that change most often.

What about teenagers?

Aulani runs a separate teen programme with its own activities. A fifteen-year-old is not doing crafts with six-year-olds.

In practice teens spend their time in the lazy river, at Rainbow Reef, at the spa's Painted Sky studio and on excursions to the north shore. Families with teens are one of the four traveller profiles Disney itself recognises, and they are the ones who leave the resort most.

Where you meet the characters

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy move through the resort in aloha shirts and island dress. Meetings happen in the gardens, around the pools and in the lobby, at times published in the resort's daily paper.

Moana appears here too, which makes sense: she is the Disney character closest to this place.

These are not theme-park queues. The rhythm is a hotel's, not an attraction's.

The character breakfast

The most structured meeting is the character breakfast at the Makahiki buffet. That is where the photograph happens without chasing anyone.

It takes a reservation, and an early one. Ask your advisor to book it alongside the room rather than once you arrive.

Activities on the property

The Menehune Adventure Trail is a treasure hunt through the resort, with riddles and elements that come to life. Children lose hours to it, and it costs nothing.

Add outdoor movie nights, pool games and a programme of activities published daily.

Hawaiian culture, not set dressing

Three things are worth your time, and not only for the children.

Starlit Hui is the evening show: island song, dance and storytelling. Mo'olelo is fireside storytelling, quieter. Makaʻikaʻi is a guided art and culture tour of the resort that explains what the motifs and objects you have been walking past since day one actually mean.

The rest of the day happens mostly in the water, at the pools and the lazy river, and at the table, where the resort restaurants do not all welcome young children the same way. The full picture of Aulani is on the main page.

KA WA'A is the full lūʻau, with dinner and performance. It is booked separately. Voyages AquaTerra holds a Quebec travel agent licence (702703), and your payments are covered by the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents, subject to the program's terms.
