Universal Terra Luna Resort

Universal Terra Luna Resort opened on 25 March 2025. Hold on to that date: Universal first announced 25 February, then pushed the opening back a month, and the old date still lingers in plenty of agency listings. It is Stella Nova's twin, built on the same plan, in earthy greens and golds where its neighbour plays teal. It holds 750 identical rooms, in Universal's Prime Value category.

What your room key gives you

Early Park Admission, up to one hour before official opening. At Epic Universe that benefit is reserved for guests of the resort's eleven hotels, and even Premier annual passholders are excluded. It is the best reason to sleep on site. Every member of your party needs their own key card in their own name.

Added to that are free transport to all four parks, delivery of in-park purchases and charging privileges across the resort.

Free Universal Express Unlimited stays reserved for Loews Portofino Bay, Hard Rock and Loews Royal Pacific. Terra Luna does not qualify. And Universal Express, even when purchased, is valid neither at Epic Universe nor at Volcano Bay: Epic Universe sells its own separately.

The rooms

One configuration, as at Stella Nova. The room runs about 29 m², has two queen beds and sleeps four, behind a window drawn like a space station porthole. Views split between standard and pool, and accessible versions exist for mobility and for hearing.

Every room has a fifty-five-inch television, automated heating and cooling, a two-compartment bathroom, a small sofa, a vanity corner, a safe, an iron and a hairdryer. Pack and Plays are lent free on request.

As at its twin, there is a small refrigerator and a pod coffee maker, with no microwave and no kitchenette, and no suites at all. A party of five needs two rooms.

The pool and the facilities

The pool slopes gently in and has pop-up jets that delight children, a large hot tub and a fire pit, with poolside movie nights. You will read elsewhere that there is a splash pad: that is documented at Stella Nova, not here. There is no water slide either.

The fitness room is complimentary and well equipped, with changing rooms, showers and a bottle-filling station. The rec room, at roughly 100 m², holds an arcade and video games. A self-service laundry is on site. There is no spa; the resort's only one is at Loews Portofino Bay. Pets are not accepted and parking is charged.

Eating on site

Omega Cafe and Market serves all three meals as quick service, cooked to order, with a grab-and-go section; its menu is reckoned a little lighter than Stella Nova's. Moonrise Bar and Moonrise Grill handle the pool with burgers, quesadillas and salads. Luna Bar holds the lobby in full service. Pizza delivery to the room runs in the evening. There is no full-service restaurant on site.

Getting to the parks

By bus, every ten minutes, to Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay and CityWalk. The run to Epic Universe takes under ten minutes.

A word about walking, because the sources disagree. Universal's own blog names only Helios Grand and Stella Nova as walkable. Others describe a path from Terra Luna past Stella Nova, twenty to thirty minutes depending on the survey, with several street crossings. Treat the bus as the normal way to reach the park from this hotel. There is no water taxi.

Who this hotel suits

It suits families of four coming for Epic Universe who accept the bus, travellers who prefer a warm palette and a slightly quieter hotel than its twin, and anyone who would rather put the budget into park tickets.
