Escapade à Dubaï (Dubai Getaway) is a short 4-day, 3-night Club Med stay in the UAE that starts and ends in Dubai. It is sold as a private package, with French-speaking local guides and rides in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The second day is devoted to cultural Dubai: Jumeirah Mosque, the old town, the Al Shindagha Museum, then the spice and gold souks. The next two days are free, with an optional desert outing in a vintage 4x4 and an evening under the stars in a camp. You stay at the Hilton Garden Inn 4* in the Comfort category or the Fairmont 5* in Superior Comfort. How do the four days in Dubai unfold?

On the first day, a driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel. On the second morning, your French-speaking guide shows you the Dubai that came before the towers. You start at Jumeirah Mosque, then walk through the old town, among houses with wind towers. At the Al Shindagha Museum, on the creek, you learn how pearl diving kept the city alive. You finish in the souks, where the scent of saffron and incense comes before the gold displays. The afternoon, then days 3 and 4, are yours, until the transfer to the airport.

What can you do on the free days?

The most requested option is the desert outing in a vintage 4x4, followed by an evening under the stars in a camp. Your advisor can book it ahead, along with other extra activities. The rest of the time, you go up the Burj Khalifa, stroll along Jumeirah's public beach or cross the creek by abra, the small wooden boats that link the two banks for a few coins. Half board is also available as an option for those who prefer dinner at the hotel.

Which hotel do you stay in during the getaway?

Two categories are offered. In Comfort, the Hilton Garden Inn 4* is a modern, practical address, well connected to the city's main roads. In Superior Comfort, the Fairmont 5* offers more space, pools and restaurants to extend the evening without going out. Your advisor helps you choose based on how you travel: if you spend your days outdoors, Comfort is plenty; if the hotel is part of the pleasure, Superior Comfort transforms the stay.

The package includes transfers from the airport to the hotel and back, rides in a private air-conditioned vehicle, three nights with breakfast and the scheduled visits with a French-speaking guide. When should you go to Dubai and how do you get there from Quebec?

From fall to spring, days are warm and sunny and evenings mild, ideal for the desert and the souks. Summer is very hot: it is the season for museums, air-conditioned malls and the pool. What travel documents do you need for the UAE?

You need a Canadian passport valid for several months after your return date. Your advisor checks the requirements at the time of booking. For Jumeirah Mosque, bring clothing that covers arms and legs, and a scarf for women. Elsewhere in the city, light, respectful clothing works everywhere.
