Every spring, the Club Med 2 crosses the Atlantic to spend the summer season in the Mediterranean. In 2027, it sets sail on May 18 from Nice with three- and four-night mini-cruises on the Riviera, then from June to September sails one- to three-week cruises to Greece, Türkiye, Sicily and the Adriatic. This 187-metre, five-masted sailing ship in the Exclusive Collection range embarks passengers in Nice, Athens, Antalya, Bodrum, Palermo and Corfu. When does the Club Med 2 sail in the Mediterranean?

Club Med announces a Mediterranean season running from April to November. In 2027, the ship reaches Málaga on April 10 on the Spring Transatlantic, then the season opens in Nice on May 18. The cruises published so far run until September 8, when Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Shores arrives in Nice, and Club Med will complete the autumn calendar before the return to the Caribbean. June and September offer warm seas and quieter ports of call, while July and August are the heart of the family season.

What is a Riviera mini-cruise?

It is a three- or four-night cruise from Nice, perfect for discovering the Club Med 2 or ending a trip to France and Italy. Four departures are scheduled in spring 2027: Portovenere and St-Tropez, from May 18 to 21, Portofino and Calvi, from May 21 to 24, From the Ligurian Region to St-Cyr-sur-Mer, from May 27 to 31, and Santa Margherita Ligure and Calvi, from June 4 to 7. On Portovenere and St-Tropez, for example, the ship anchors for a full day off each of the two villages, then disembarks passengers in Villefranche-sur-Mer, next door to Nice.

Which cultural cruises are planned for 2027?

On June 11, two cruises leave Nice together. Alexander: from Macedonia to Egypt, until July 3, is the great voyage of the summer, with 22 nights between Nice and Athens. Myths and Eastern Shores ends in Antalya on June 24, and Golden Shores of Antiquity continues from Antalya to Athens until July 3. At the end of the season, Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Shores links Corfu to Nice from August 28 to September 8. These cruises are for travellers who love ancient sites, museums and long conversations at the table about what they saw during the day.

Which cruises suit families?

Several July and August departures carry the family label. Aegean Sea Escape, from July 3 to 10, round trip from Athens, calls at Syros, Samos, Bodrum, Kos, Ios and Kimolos. Islands and Enchanted Shores sails to Antalya, Aegean Blue and Lycian Treasures follows the Turkish coast to Bodrum, and From the Greek Islands to Sicily links Bodrum to Palermo. In August, Cyclades and Eastern Shores loops around Athens, and From Attica to Corfu closes the series. Two G.O run a program for teenagers: a bridge visit, beach afternoons and new water sports from the ship's stern marina.

What is the Club Med 2 eclipse cruise?

In the Heart of the Eclipse of the Century leaves Palermo on July 31, 2027 for a week between Sicily and Tunisia. On August 2, the ship positions itself off the Tunisian coast for the total solar eclipse, which passengers watch from the upper deck, before arriving in Sousse. The itinerary then calls at Porto Empedocle, for the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, at Syracuse and at Giardini Naxos, at the foot of Taormina. On board, astronomer Paul Wagner, a former lecturer at the Palais de la Découverte in Paris, leads talks and stargazing sessions. This departure extends naturally to Club Med Cefalù, on the north coast of Sicily.

What does a day in port look like in the Mediterranean?

The ship usually arrives around 8 a.m. and leaves around 6 p.m. At small islands, such as Kimolos in the Cyclades, it anchors offshore and passengers go ashore by tender to swim in a cove or walk up to the village. In large ports, such as Bodrum or Syracuse, it docks and the day is spent in town or on an excursion. In the evening, you return to the 2,700-square-metre teak deck to watch the coast fade away, then dine outdoors at the stern.

What does the Club Med 2 all-inclusive package cover?

The package covers your cabin, meals from morning to evening, the open bar, daytime and evening entertainment and the water sports offered from the stern marina when the ship is at anchor. Deluxe cabins and suites also enjoy breakfast served in the cabin, champagne from 6 p.m. and a concierge service. Shore excursions, spa treatments and some extras are booked à la carte. The 184 cabins measure 18 to 40 square metres, and the ship was completely transformed in 2023.

How do you reach the Club Med 2 from Quebec?

Nice and Athens, the two main home ports, are easy to reach from Montreal in summer. Palermo, Antalya, Bodrum and Corfu usually require a connection in Europe. Boarding takes place in the late afternoon and disembarkation in the morning, between 9 and 11 a.m. Since several cruises leave from one port and arrive in another, your advisor books a multi-city ticket, transfers and, if needed, a hotel night before departure.

Can you combine the cruise with a resort stay?

Yes, and the Mediterranean lends itself to it particularly well. Club Med offers to combine Aegean Sea Escape with Club Med Gregolimano, in Greece, and the eclipse cruise with Club Med Cefalù. Cruises arriving in or leaving from Bodrum pair well with Club Med Bodrum Palmiye, those from Antalya with Club Med Palmiye, on the Kemer coast. From Nice, Club Med Opio en Provence is about forty minutes away, in the hills of Grasse.
