For the most part, yes. The package covers your room, meals, snacks, open bar, most sports and supervised activities, evening shows and kids' clubs for ages 4 to 17. Extras include Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med for children under 4, spa treatments, excursions and some à la carte activities. Your advisor gives you the exact list for the resort you choose so nothing catches you off guard on site.
Turkoise, on Grace Bay beach in the Turks and Caicos, is reserved for guests aged 18 and over. It is the only Caribbean resort with that policy. Families looking for the same kind of beach with their children should look at Punta Cana, Cancún or La Caravelle, and parents who want a quiet corner will find an adults-only Zen Oasis at Punta Cana and La Caravelle.
Punta Cana, Michès Playa Esmeralda, Cancún and La Caravelle offer Baby Club Med, for ages 4 to 23 months, and Petit Club Med, for ages 2 and 3. Both clubs cost extra and spots are limited, especially during spring break: book them together with your stay. Les Boucaniers has no kids' clubs, and Columbus Isle requires every guest to be at least 2 years old.
It is an adults-only area inside a family resort, with its own pool and a quieter setting. You will find one at Punta Cana and La Caravelle, and Les Boucaniers opens its own on November 1, 2026. The Zen Oasis lets grandparents, couples or friends enjoy a large resort without the noise of the kids' clubs, while keeping access to all the other facilities.
Michès is the first Caribbean resort to be entirely Exclusive Collection, Club Med's five-Trident category. The resort is split into four areas: Archipelago and Emerald Jungle for adults, Explorers Bay and Caribbean Paradise for families. Service is a step above a four-Trident resort, and the location, on a still little-developed coast, comes at the cost of a transfer of about an hour and a quarter from Punta Cana airport.
Yes. Even though they are French departments where people speak French and pay in euros, a valid Canadian passport is required to travel there from Montreal. Check its expiry date well before departure, because renewal times can stretch before the high season. Your advisor will remind you of the documents to prepare when you book, including for children.
It varies a lot from one resort to another. Allow a few minutes at Punta Cana and Columbus Isle, about fifteen minutes at Turkoise, around twenty at Cancún, roughly an hour to Les Boucaniers from Fort-de-France and an hour and a quarter to Michès from Punta Cana. La Caravelle is about forty kilometres from Pointe-à-Pitre airport. With young children, this often weighs as much as the beach in choosing a resort.
Yes. Club Med carried out transformation work at the Cancún resort until late August 2026, including an infinity pool, a beach bar and renovated Deluxe rooms. The resort occupies the tip of Punta Nizuc and has an Exclusive Collection Space open to guests from age 8, as well as a Family Oasis. It is now Club Med's only resort on the Mexican coast since Ixtapa Pacific closed.
Club Med announced in November 2025 the closure of Ixtapa Pacific, whose property was sold, and the resort can no longer be booked. Several travel sites still list it, which keeps the confusion going. For a Club Med holiday in Mexico, Cancún is now the only option. If you used to love Ixtapa, talk to your advisor: they will know what comes closest to what you enjoyed there.
As early as possible, ideally by the end of summer. Family resorts such as Punta Cana, Cancún and La Caravelle fill up fast for spring break, and Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med spots go first. Club Med launches its early booking offers in late August. Your advisor watches these offers and lets you know when they apply to the resort you have in mind.
