When is Club Med Kiroro Peak open?

The 2026-2027 season runs from November 27 to April 17. It covers the holidays, Quebec spring break in early March and Easter, on March 28, 2027. For a romantic getaway, mid-January and February offer the lightest powder and a quiet atmosphere. Late March and April bring long, mild days, ideal for skiing in the morning and enjoying a hot bath in the afternoon.

How do you get to Kiroro Peak from Quebec?

You fly from Montreal, with a connection, to New Chitose airport, which serves Sapporo. The transfer takes about 2 hours in winter, or 1 hour 30 minutes by private transfer, a pleasant option after a long flight. Starting in December 2026, a non-stop flight will also link Vancouver and Sapporo. If you arrive before 3 p.m., lunch is offered while you wait for your room. Our guide to travelling to Japan from Quebec helps you plan the journey.

What does Exclusive Collection add to your stay?

Exclusive Collection is Club Med's most refined range: more spacious rooms, more elaborate dining and a hushed atmosphere. At Kiroro Peak, Deluxe rooms and suites receive in-room fitness equipment this winter, and everyone can choose their pillow. The resort welcomes guests 12 and over, which gives it a calm rhythm, from breakfast to evenings at the bar.

What is the Kiroro ski area like?

The ski area has 23 km of alpine runs, 9 lifts and 6 freeride zones, between 520 and 1,180 metres. Storms from the Sea of Japan drop light powder here, often refreshed overnight. Experienced skiers head into the tree runs of the freeride zones, and intermediates link the wide runs. The resort is ski-in, ski-out: you step out of the ski room and head to the first lift.

Are ski lessons included at Kiroro Peak?

Yes. Group ski and snowboard lessons are included from age 12, for all levels, in English or Japanese. Groups are formed by level, so a couple can each progress at their own pace and meet up for lunch. Snow hiking, yoga and cardio training are also on the program. Equipment rental is extra and can be booked ahead with your advisor.

Is Kiroro Peak good for families with teens?

Very much so. Young people aged 12 to 17 take ski and snowboard lessons with groups of their age and level, and enjoy the pool and activities. Parents appreciate a calmer resort. For families with young children, neighbouring Club Med Kiroro Grand welcomes children from age 2 with its clubs.

What is the food like at Club Med Kiroro Peak?

The main restaurant, the Otaru, serves a buffet of Japanese and international cuisine. In the evening, you can take the 3-minute shuttle or gondola to Kiroro Grand, where three specialty restaurants await: The Ebisu, The Kaen and The Ogon, as well as The Kakurega, a gourmet speakeasy-style bar. At Kiroro Peak, The View Bar is the après-ski lounge, facing the snowy slopes. To keep exploring, read our article on Japanese whisky distilleries.

Which room should you choose at Club Med Kiroro Peak?

The Superior room, 28 to 39 m², sleeps up to three: a good choice for a couple. The Deluxe, 57 to 60 m², offers a real living space and sleeps up to four, ideal for a family with two teens. The suites, 77 to 96 m², sleep up to five and suit honeymoons as well as special occasions.

How do you unwind after skiing at Kiroro Peak?

The ofuro, the traditional Japanese bath, is included: you warm up there at the end of the day, with a peaceful mind. The heated indoor pool has an adults-only area. The Club Med Spa, with mountain views, offers treatments on request, at extra cost. Yoga and cardio training round out the day for those who like to move without skis.

What is there to do around Kiroro?

Otaru, a port town known for its canal lined with stone warehouses, its glass workshops and its sushi counters, makes a great rest day. Yoichi and its whisky distillery are in the same region. Sapporo, with its markets and ramen bars, is perfect for a stopover before or after your stay.

Kiroro Peak or another Hokkaido resort?

Kiroro Peak is the choice for adults and couples who want Exclusive Collection comfort and abundant powder. Families with young children look at Kiroro Grand, right next door, or Tomamu, in the centre of the island. Sahoro, on the Tokachi plain, is more intimate.
