How does the getaway unfold, day by day?

On the first day, your driver meets you at Catania airport and takes you to Syracuse, 65 km away, for a first evening by the Ionian Sea. On the second day, your guide shows you the Greek theatre, the Ortigia peninsula and its old Jewish quarter, then the road heads to Ragusa Ibla, 75 km away. On the third day, you climb to Piazza Armerina and the Roman Villa del Casale before reaching Agrigento and its Valley of the Temples, some 150 km of road through the island's interior. On the fourth day, a 145 km transfer drops you in Cefalù or at the airport.

Ragusa Ibla first: the town was rebuilt in baroque style after the 1693 earthquake, and its golden churches rise in tiers up the hill.
