The future Club Med Musandam will be the first Club Med resort in the Middle East. It will rise on the Musandam Peninsula, an Omani enclave at the northeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, facing the Strait of Hormuz, where the Hajar Mountains plunge into fjords that have earned the region the nickname "Norway of Arabia". Club Med plans an Exclusive Collection resort with 300 rooms, on more than 21 hectares with 600 metres of beach, 5 minutes by boat from Khasab and about 2 hours 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport. Designed for couples and families alike, it will welcome children from 4 months old. Opening is planned for 2028.

When is Club Med Oman due to open?

Club Med announces a planned opening in 2028. The project was unveiled in May 2024 with two Omani partners, Royal Court Affairs and the Omran Group, and construction was scheduled to take about 26 months from early 2026. Stay dates and the on-sale date will be announced by Club Med closer to opening. Where will the new Club Med in Oman be located?

The resort will be built in the Musandam Governorate, separated from the rest of Oman by the territory of the UAE. It is a peninsula of bare mountains and deep bays at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. Club Med has chosen a site of more than 215,000 m² with 600 metres of waterfront, reached in 5 minutes by boat from Khasab, the region's small capital. You will therefore arrive by sea, which sets the tone for the stay from the very first hour.

What will Club Med Musandam be like?

It will be an Exclusive Collection resort, Club Med's most upscale range, with 300 rooms. Club Med announces several restaurants and bars, a wine corner, a spa and fitness centre, a yoga school and an adults-only zen pool with its own bar. Some fifteen sports will be offered: tennis, padel, archery, sailing, kayaking, scuba diving and snorkelling. A live music program will also give a stage to artists from the region.

Will the future resort suit families?

Yes. Club Med is designing it for couples and families alike, and its kids' clubs will welcome little ones from 4 months old. What formalities are needed for Oman?

The Government of Canada states that a passport valid for at least six months beyond the expected departure date is required for Oman, and that Canadians need a visa. Since you will arrive through the UAE and then by road, two countries are involved in the paperwork. Rules may change by 2028: your advisor will check the requirements in force when you book and walk you through each step.
