Club Med Bintan Island is an all-inclusive resort open year-round on Bintan Island, Indonesia, about 55 minutes by ferry from Singapore. Set on 20 hectares at the back of a sheltered bay, it faces a 2.5 km private beach on the South China Sea, with a palm garden where monkeys live. Its 308 rooms welcome families and couples alike, and the kids' clubs take little ones from 4 months. When should you go to Club Med Bintan Island?

The resort is open all year, and Bintan keeps a steady tropical warmth, around 30°C, with warm water in every season. That makes it a fine option for the holidays, Quebec spring break in early March or Easter, on March 28, 2027. The rooms are being renovated through December 8, 2026: from winter 2026-2027, you arrive in freshly redone rooms. Singapore school holiday weeks fill quickly, and your advisor points you to the calmest dates.

How do you get to Club Med Bintan Island from Quebec?

You take flights from Montreal, with a connection, to Singapore. From there, the ferry reaches Bintan in about 55 minutes, then some twenty minutes by road take you from the terminal to the resort. The trip becomes an adventure in itself: you go from a futuristic garden city to a palm-lined bay in the same day. Tanjung Pinang airport, on the island, is 1 hour 40 minutes by road. Your advisor arranges the flights, the ferry and the transfer with the package.

Why is Bintan called a golfers' resort?

Group golf lessons are included from age 8, with access to the resort's golf facilities: perfect for learning or reworking your swing on holiday. Experienced players book rounds at the Ria Bintan Golf Club, renowned across Southeast Asia for its seaside holes, or at the Laguna Golf Club. Green fees on these courses are extra, on reservation. A couple can alternate a round in the morning with the beach in the afternoon.

Which activities are included in the package?

The list is long. Aerial yoga, unique on the island, is practised suspended in a fabric hammock. You will also find the flying trapeze, archery, tennis, padel, pickleball, squash and indoor climbing. On the water, snorkelling, glass-bottom kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are included. Cooking classes round out the programme, and kids love the Petit Chef workshop.

Is Club Med Bintan Island a good choice for families?

Yes, it is a resort designed for families, with no minimum age. Baby Club Med welcomes children from 4 to 23 months and Petit Club Med ages 2 and 3, with limited spots to book early. Mini Club Med then takes over from 4 to 10, followed by Club Med Teens from 11 to 17, with a games room, billiards, foosball and bean-bag movie nights. The redesigned Amazing Family! space offers activities to enjoy all together. Club Pyjamas, at extra cost, looks after little ones in the evening.

What is the food like at Club Med Bintan Island?

The main restaurant, Le Waterfall, overlooks the beach and serves dishes created by chef Samantha Gowing alongside Asian and international buffets. La Terrasse, by the sea, serves as the Club Gourmet for a more relaxed dinner. Pondok Ria, a street-food truck, serves Indonesian bites. For drinks, you choose between Santaï by the pool, Panorama on the café side and Matahari with your feet in the sand. Alcohol is served to guests 21 and over.

Which room should you choose at Club Med Bintan Island?

The Superior room, 34 to 39 m², sleeps up to three: a generous size for a family with one child. The Deluxe, up to 41 m², adds the sea view you will want at sunrise. For a honeymoon or an anniversary, the 80 m² Suite sleeps two. Your advisor requests connecting rooms when you travel as five or six.

What is there to do around the resort?

At dusk, a boat outing into the mangroves leads to fireflies blinking among the trees: it is the excursion people talk about back home. You can also book a sunset cruise, a fishing trip or a jet-ski ride, and treat yourself at the Club Med Spa by Sothys. These activities are extra, on reservation. And Singapore, an hour away by ferry, is easy to add at the start or end of the trip for two or three nights in the city.

How do you combine Bintan with a longer trip in Asia?

Bintan works well as the rest stop after a tour. Many of our travellers pair Singapore with a week at the resort, or add Club Med Bali and its Nusa Dua beaches for a second stop in Indonesia.
