Club Med Djerba la Douce at a glance

Club Med Djerba la Douce is a Premium all-inclusive resort on the island of Djerba, in southern Tunisia, an island listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stretches over 19 ha along a 1 km beach of golden sand lined with date palms, in the middle of a 20 ha palm grove. Its 508 rooms are spread across three areas, each with its own feel: La Douce, Calypso and Aziza. It is the resort for sailing lovers, with Club Med's largest fleet of catamarans and group lessons included. Families will find clubs from 4 months old. The 2027 season runs from April 3 to November 5, and Djerba airport is 30 minutes away.

When is Club Med Djerba la Douce open?

The 2026 season ends on October 31, so a few lovely autumn weeks remain for those leaving right away. The resort then reopens on April 3, 2027 and welcomes guests until November 5, 2027. Spring and fall are our Quebec travellers' favourite times: the sea is pleasant, the light is soft and you can walk through the palm grove without looking for shade. Summer draws families, who use the school holidays for the beach and the kids' clubs.

How do you get to Djerba from Quebec?

You leave from Montreal or Quebec City, with a connection depending on the season, and fly to Djerba airport. From there, 30 km and about 30 minutes by road separate the runway from your room. The resort is near Midoun, 9 km away, and Houmt Souk, the island's main town, is 24 km away. Your advisor books flights and the transfer with the package and chooses connections that are easy on your group.

Which room should you choose: La Douce, Calypso or Aziza?

Each area has its own personality. At La Douce, the 22 m² Standard Menzel rooms are in traditional bungalows along flower-lined paths, and some are on the beach side. Two connecting rooms offer 44 m² for a family of four. Calypso has Superior rooms of 23 to 26 m², for one to three people, decorated in pastel blue with local crafts. At Aziza, the white 25 m² menzels sit beneath the eucalyptus trees, with a view of the sea. A Deluxe category completes the choice for those who want a step up.

Why is Djerba called the sailing resort?

Because the resort has Club Med's largest fleet of catamarans, and group sailing lessons are included in the package. The sailing hut, with its terrace over the water, quickly becomes the morning meeting spot. Lessons by level suit beginners as well as sailors who want to push a little. To go further, kitesurfing, hydrofoil and wing foil are taught in courses, at extra cost. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are free to use, for a quiet paddle along the coast.

What is included in the package?

The package includes accommodation, meals, the bar and snacks, kids' clubs from age 4 and a long list of sports: sailing, padel, clay-court tennis, archery, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, mini golf and Les Mills classes. The tennis courts even have their own stands, for tournaments among friends. At extra cost, on reservation: horseback riding, golf at Djerba Golf Club, board-sport courses and the spa.

Is the resort good for families with young children?

Yes, from a very young age. Baby Club Med welcomes little ones from 4 to 23 months and Petit Club Med children aged 2 and 3, at extra cost, with limited spots. Mini Club Med+ takes over from 4 to 10, followed by the Teens club from 11 to 17, included in the package. The golden-sand beach is steps away, and the sea-facing pool lets you keep an eye on everyone. For summer, book toddler spots at the same time as your stay.

How do you unwind at Club Med Djerba la Douce?

Start with the sea-facing pool and its new bar, where people linger in the late afternoon. Club Med Spa by Thalgo offers its treatments at extra cost, perfect after a day of sailing. The resort is Green Globe certified, and you feel it in the gardens: date palms, flower-lined paths and eucalyptus trees where the birds gather at sunset.

What is there to do around the resort?

Djerba can be explored in a day on the island tour, with its white mosques and markets. In Erriadh, Djerbahood turns the village into an open-air street art gallery. On the mainland, Matmata keeps its troglodyte dwellings and Berber villages, and Ksar Ghilane leads to an oasis at the edge of the desert. Kids love the pirate boat, and the more adventurous head out by quad or buggy. Your advisor helps you pick outings that suit your children's ages.

Djerba or Marrakech: which one should you choose?

Djerba means the sea, sailing and the beach. Marrakech la Palmeraie focuses on the city, the gardens and the desert, and it is open year-round. Both resorts welcome babies from 4 months.
