Club Med Guilin at a glance

Club Med Guilin is a year-round all-inclusive resort in southwest China, in the Guangxi autonomous region, surrounded by the sugarloaf karst hills that made the Li River famous. Its 350 rooms sit on a 47-hectare estate shared with the Yuzi Paradise sculpture park, where more than 100 works by Chinese and international artists rise between the limestone peaks. Guests come for morning tai chi, climbing, the flying trapeze and food that travels from one province to the next. The package includes accommodation, meals, the bar, most activities and kids' clubs from age 4. It is also a restful stop in the middle of a big trip through Asia.

When is Club Med Guilin open?

The resort is open all year, with a summer season and a winter season. Spring and fall are the mildest times to hike the hills and cruise the Li River. Summer is hot and humid, and that is when the vegetation is greenest and the terraced rice fields shine. Winter is cool and calm, perfect for those who love quiet trails. For Quebecers, it is a great way to escape the grey days of November or to extend a business trip to Asia.

How do you get to Club Med Guilin from Quebec?

You fly from Montreal, with a connection, usually through a major Chinese city such as Shanghai, Beijing or Hong Kong, then continue to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport. The transfer to the resort takes about 1 hour. Guilin is also very well served by high-speed rail: Guilin and Guilin North stations are about 1 hour from the resort. Your advisor builds the full itinerary, with a stopover night if you want to arrive rested.

Do you need a visa for China?

According to the Government of Canada, since February 17, 2026, Canadians have been able to enter China visa-free for stays of up to 30 days, for tourism, business, family visits or transit, a measure scheduled to run until December 31, 2026. For a 2027 departure or a longer stay, your advisor confirms the entry requirements in force at the time of booking.

What makes this resort unique?

The setting, first of all. The resort sits in Yuzi Paradise, an open-air museum where more than 100 contemporary sculptures dot the lawns, ponds and trails at the foot of the karst peaks. A guided tour of the park is included. In the morning, tai chi masters lead the class in the middle of this landscape, and in the evening, the Chinese night and mahjong reveal another side of the country. For a curious traveller, it is a gentle gateway to China, with the comfort and support of Club Med.

Which activities are included in the package?

The list is long: indoor and outdoor climbing, hiking, golf lessons, footgolf, flying trapeze, archery, tennis, padel, pickleball, badminton, and hatha, yin, vinyasa and even paddleboard yoga. Add dance classes, circus, a color run and guided outings in the area. Active travellers can fill every day, and those who prefer to slow down find their rhythm between tai chi and the sculpture gardens.

What is there to see around Guilin?

The Li River cruise, available at extra cost, is the signature outing: you glide between limestone hills, bamboo groves and local fishermen. The jungle cave, the "Wonders of Guilin" excursion, and 4x4 and buggy outings round out the program, all at extra cost and bookable at the resort. The region is also home to the Zhuang, Hui and Yao peoples, whose traditions come through in the food and the shows.

What is the food like at Club Med Guilin?

L'Atelier, the main restaurant, serves an international and local buffet that changes every day. Le Lotus, the Club Gourmet space, blends French and Chinese cuisine in a more intimate setting. On the rooftop, the Mongolian restaurant offers Taiwanese-style barbecue with a view of the karst mountains, and at the Noodle Bar, cooks prepare noodles from every region of China right in front of you. The Bar l'Atelier and the pool bar take over for aperitifs and evenings.

Which room should you choose at Club Med Guilin?

The Superior room, 23 to 48 m², sleeps one to three and suits a couple or a parent with a child. The Deluxe, 43 to 64 m², gives more space for three. The suites, 66 to 125 m², sleep up to four and suit families who want a real living room. The HOMA building, reserved for guests aged 12 and over, appeals to couples looking for a calmer atmosphere. Your advisor guides you based on the size of your group and the view you want.

Is the resort good for families?

Yes, it is one of its strengths. Baby Club Med welcomes little ones from 4 to 23 months and Petit Club Med ages 2 and 3, on reservation. Mini Club Med then takes over from 4 to 10, followed by Club Med Teens from 11 to 17, in two age groups. Kids also get their own cooking class, circus and nature discovery camp, and La Lanterne, a 900 m² indoor playground, keeps everyone busy on rainy days.

How do you fit Guilin into a bigger trip to Asia?

Guilin pairs very well with a few days in Shanghai, Beijing or Hong Kong, before or after your resort stay. You explore the city at your own pace, then rest at Club Med, where everything is taken care of. Some travellers continue to Club Med Lijiang, in Yunnan, to see two very different faces of China.
