The future Club Med St. Croix will be reborn on the site of the former Carambola Beach Resort, on Davis Bay, on the northwest coast of St. Croix, the largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Built in 1986 by philanthropist Laurance Rockefeller between a crescent beach and the tropical forest, the property will become an Exclusive Collection resort with 150 suites, designed for adults and families with children aged 12 and up. Club Med announces an infinity pool facing the Caribbean Sea, a spa, three restaurants and four bars. It will mark Club Med's return to the U.S., with opening planned for the fourth quarter of 2027.

When is Club Med St. Croix due to open?

Club Med is targeting an opening in the fourth quarter of 2027. The project was announced on June 16, 2026 with VICI Properties, the property owner, and ground was broken on July 15, 2026, in the presence of the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Where will the new Club Med in the Virgin Islands be located?

The resort will occupy Davis Bay, on the green northwest coast of St. Croix. The site is nestled between a crescent-shaped beach and a tropical forest that runs down the hills to the sea. Laurance Rockefeller opened the Carambola there in 1986 with a simple idea: welcome travellers while preserving the landscape. Club Med is carrying on that spirit with a complete renovation that preserves the natural beauty of the site.

It will be a small resort of 150 suites, in the Exclusive Collection range, Club Med's most upscale. Plans include an infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea, a full-service spa, three dining concepts and four bars. On the activity side, the program includes pickleball, beach volleyball, yoga, non-motorized water sports and guided nature outings. Evenings will keep the Club Med touch, with the famous Crazy Signs.
