Le royaume d'Écosse (The Kingdom of Scotland) is an 8-day, 7-night Club Med Discovery tour of Scotland, listed under the Nature Escape theme. How do the first days unfold, from Glasgow to the islands?

On day 1, the welcome takes place in Edinburgh, then the group heads to Glasgow, 65 km away. Day 2 is devoted to Glasgow: the National Piping Centre, the Victorian architecture of the city centre and the Burrell Collection, a rich art collection bequeathed to the city. On day 3, you leave the city for 170 km: Loch Lomond and the village of Luss, Inveraray Castle, then Oban, a small port on the west coast. On day 4, a 45-minute ferry takes you to the Isle of Mull, where you visit a cheese dairy and the Tobermory distillery, in the harbour lined with colourful houses.

What do you see in the Highlands, then in Edinburgh?

Day 5 is the big Highlands day, 186 km: the Glencoe valley at the foot of Ben Nevis, Fort Augustus, then a cruise on Loch Ness below Urquhart Castle, before the night at Culloden. On day 6, you visit the Culloden battlefield, the salmon ladder at Pitlochry and Scone Palace for tea time, then cross the Forth Bridge to Edinburgh, after 255 km. Which hotels do you stay in in Scotland?

The tour has four addresses, and three of them host the group for two nights in a row. In Glasgow, you stay at the Radisson Blu, right downtown. Near Oban, Knipoch House, a 4-star manor, welcomes the group for two nights, time for the excursion to Mull. Near Inverness, Culloden House, another historic 4-star residence, offers a night in the heart of the Highlands. In Edinburgh, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh hosts the last two nights, within walking distance of the castle.

What is included and what costs extra?

Full board runs from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 8. Each evening, a local drink or a soft drink is served, with water and hot drinks at meals.
