MSC Seaview switches hemispheres. Through summer 2026 it runs seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Genoa, Marseille, Naples, Palermo and Valletta. From November 2026 to March 2027 it moves to South America, homeporting in Santos, Buenos Aires and Balneário Camboriú for seven-night Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay sailings, then crosses back to Genoa on March 4, 2027 for another Mediterranean summer.
Not in 2026 or 2027. Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve sits in the Bahamas, and MSC Seaview spends the year between the Mediterranean and South America, so the private island never appears on its itineraries. Travellers who specifically want Ocean Cay should look at MSC Seaside from Miami or MSC Seashore from Port Canaveral, where the island is on every departure and the ship docks alongside.
Structurally, barely at all. Both are 323-metre, 153,516-ton Fincantieri sisters with the same wraparound outdoor promenade, glass hull-mounted elevators and terraced stern. MSC Seaview is the younger of the two, delivered June 4, 2018, and its interiors lean toward lighter Mediterranean tones. The meaningful difference is where they sail: MSC Seaview stays in Europe and South America, MSC Seaside stays in Florida.
MSC Seaview holds 4,132 guests at double occupancy and up to 5,119 with every berth filled, across 2,066 cabins, with 1,413 crew. Counting crew, total capacity reaches 6,592 people. On European summer sailings, packed with Italian and Spanish families during school holidays, the ship typically runs closer to the maximum figure than to the double-occupancy one, which changes how busy it feels.
Harder than its Florida sisters, and worth knowing before you fall for the itinerary. MSC Seaview departs Barcelona, Genoa, Marseille or Naples in summer, which means a transatlantic flight and usually a European connection. In winter, its Brazilian and Argentine homeports almost always require a stopover. Budget two nights on the ground before embarkation rather than one, and price the air separately.
Far more than on MSC's American departures, and this is the genuine selling point. In the Mediterranean, MSC Seaview picks up French, Belgian and Swiss guests in Marseille and Genoa, so announcements, the daily programme and entertainment run in French among five or six languages. During the South American season, Portuguese and Spanish take over and French drops well down the list.
Once, and lightly. MSC Seaview drydocked from March 31 to April 15, 2023 at MSC's own Valletta shipyard in Malta for scheduled maintenance, classification work, technical overhaul and hull cleaning and painting. No new restaurants or attractions were added. What you board today is essentially the 2018 ship, well kept but without the newer venues found on MSC Seashore.
Its relationship with the water. MSC Seaview carries a 360-degree open promenade on deck 8 lined with terraces, a glass-floored skywalk on deck 16, and panoramic elevators that climb the outside of the hull to the Sunset Beach pool. The stern steps down in terraces above the aft pool, and the top decks hold the aqua park, zip line and adventure trail.
A gated ship within the ship. On MSC Seaview it covers roughly 86 suites across decks 16 to 18 with butler and concierge service, a private restaurant, the Top Sail Lounge, a reserved sundeck, the upper drink package and Wi-Fi included. On a crowded European summer sailing it is the difference between resting and hunting for a lounger. On short itineraries the value case is thinner.
Yes, particularly outside peak school weeks. MSC Seaview runs all five MSC clubs, from the Chicco-equipped Baby Club through the LEGO Mini Club to the Teens Club for fifteen to seventeen, and the aqua park and ropes course absorb older kids. Supervised care for infants from six months carries a fee and is capped at fifteen babies per session, so it books out fast.
The pool deck leads the list, since chairs disappear early and demand outstrips supply in European high season. Elevators clog at embarkation and around meal times. Because the design leans on outdoor space, one rainy Mediterranean day pushes everyone into the same indoor rooms. Add the interporting model, where new guests board in several ports, bringing repeated safety drill announcements.
In tiers. MSC offers Easy, Easy Plus and Premium Extra, plus alcohol-free and minors versions. Each covers drinks up to a per-serving ceiling with gratuities included and a ceiling of 15 alcoholic drinks per day. Minibar, room service and signature counters are excluded. On European departures a basic package is sometimes already bundled into the fare, so have your booking checked before you buy again.

Aft cabins overlook the terraced stern and the wake, a fine view that comes with more vibration. Under a Bella fare MSC assigns your location, so move up to Fantastica if position matters.
