Does the MS Infinity sail the Nile?

No. She is a motor yacht built in Ecuador in 2018 that sails the Galapagos archipelago. The name invites confusion with the same brand's Nile ships, but she has nothing to do with Egypt.

Is the ship still being marketed?

Yes. She remains in the line's Galapagos programme, and is in fact the only ship named on the official page. So this is neither a withdrawal nor a suspension.

What is the ship's capacity?

Twenty at most, with a crew of twelve, a cruise director and two bilingual naturalist guides. It is a very intimate format, closer to a private yacht than to a cruise ship.

How many cabins does she have?

Ten according to one source, eleven according to another. We use ten and flag the disagreement. Every cabin has a private balcony and panoramic windows, rare in this category here.

Is there a lift aboard?

No, none, and there is no wheelchair-accessible cabin or pool either. On a forty-nine-metre yacht there is simply no room for them.

How are landings made?

By panga, a small craft, with what are called dry landings onto a jetty and wet landings straight onto the beach. Both call for balance and real mobility.

Is snorkelling gear provided?

Yes, mask, snorkel and wetsuit are provided for the whole length of the cruise, along with access to the kayaks and paddleboards carried aboard. Nothing has to be rented locally.

What is not included?

The national park entrance fee and the transit control card, both settled on site, flights to the archipelago and international flights, spirits outside the dinner wine, insurance and gratuities.

Certified bilingual naturalists, alongside a cruise director. In the Galapagos, being accompanied by a certified guide is compulsory for any land visit: it is not a comfort option.

What is the best season?

The two seasons give different trips. From December to May the sea is calmer and the water warmer. From June to November cold currents bring more marine life and a rougher sea.

Ecuadorian owners. The line markets her without owning her. Be wary of sites declaring themselves the ship's operator: several are distribution agencies, not the shipowner.

Can it be combined with the mainland?

Yes, and that is the usual pattern. Programmes generally combine Quito or Guayaquil with the archipelago, lodging and transfers included. Access to the Galapagos always requires a domestic flight.

On a yacht this size in the Galapagos, the connection depends on satellite and stays uneven, with no service guarantee at all. Part of the trip is spent out of reach, and that is rather the point.
