This ship is no longer in the fleet

Silver Discoverer no longer appears on the fleet list Silversea publishes, and our inventory shows zero departure dates. Two instruments, one result.

We will not go beyond that observation. We found no reliable source establishing the exact date it left the fleet or what became of it, and a plausible but wrong explanation then gets copied from site to site for years.

What we know is therefore short: the ship is no longer sold here, and the page stays online so that a reader searching this name gets an exact answer rather than a blank.

    Where to go instead

The expedition fleet now holds four ships. Silver Endeavour is the best armoured for ice, with a higher polar notation. Silver Wind and Silver Cloud are converted hulls, larger. Silver Origin serves the Galápagos only.

An advisor will guide you by region and season rather than by the ship's name, which is the right way to choose an expedition in any case.

    Arranging the departure

The ship is the simplest part of the file. The rest, flight, connection, hotel night and transfer, is built around it, and since September 2025 none of it comes automatically. Allow margin, particularly in winter.

Voyages AquaTerra holds a Quebec travel agent licence. Your payments move through a trust account and the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents protects your file.

    Frequently Asked Questions

No. The ship no longer appears on the fleet list the line publishes and our inventory shows zero departure dates. No booking is possible through us.
We found no reliable source establishing the exact date. We prefer to say so rather than advance a year that would then be copied from site to site.
We have not established that. What we know is that it no longer appears in the line's fleet and is no longer sold here. The rest belongs to what is unverified.
Because the name still circulates in searches and old brochures. A page that answers exactly beats an empty page or a silent redirect.
Yes, with four ships: two converted hulls, a recent polar vessel and a ship dedicated to the Galápagos. The offering still exists, on other hulls.
The one with the highest ice notation if ice is your objective, or a converted hull if you want more comfort and mixed itineraries. An advisor decides by region and season.
Yes, as are wines, spirits and Wi-Fi in every suite. Air travel, however, has not been included since 11 September 2025.
The real calendar is the best indicator. We count the departures shown on our public pages, and a ship at zero departures deserves a check with the line.
None. No club, no childcare. Infants under six months are not accepted, and under-fives do not ride Zodiacs on the expedition ships.
At the higher fare, landings, Zodiac outings, expert lectures, internal flights and the hotel before and after the cruise. Have the formula for your departure confirmed.
Royal Caribbean Group, outright since July 2020. Third-party databases still naming the founding family have not been updated.
Yes, if we establish new facts. We measure the inventory regularly and correct the page when a reliable source appears. What we will not do is fill the gap with a plausible story about a ship whose exit we cannot date.
An advisor at Voyages AquaTerra. The choice turns on region, season and the ship's ice notation rather than on its name.
Insurance covering medical evacuation in remote regions is strongly advised. In polar seas a repatriation is counted in days rather than hours.
It steps in where the Travel Agents Act provides, notably the failure of a supplier or an agency. The cover has defined limits and does not replace travel insurance. Ask your advisor to walk you through them before you pay a deposit.
