MSC World Atlantic: Port Canaveral in November 2027, a ship still on the slipway

The MSC World Atlantic has not been delivered. Her first steel was cut on 27 March 2025 at Chantiers de l'Atlantique, the same day MSC revealed her name, and she will be the fourth World Class ship. MSC announces entry into service in November 2027, without a firm handover date from the yard; maritime databases list a first departure of 13 November 2027, which does not come from the line. Her homeport will be Port Canaveral, Florida, and bookings have been open since 10 December 2025. What MSC has confirmed fits in one line: 144 MSC Yacht Club suites, seven districts, more than thirty bars and restaurants, a three-deck World Galleria, LNG propulsion, shore power and advanced wastewater treatment.

What MSC has not published, stated plainly

Tonnage, dimensions, deck count, cabin count, crew, double-occupancy and maximum capacity, the name and length of the dry slide, and the detailed deck plans were all unpublished as of August 2026. The figures in circulation, 215,863 gross tons or 6,774 guests, come from databases copying the North American ship already in service; plausible, unconfirmed. Booking more than a year out ties up a deposit and exposes you to a delayed handover, a revised itinerary or a substituted port. MSC delivered its previous World Class ship on time, reassuring without being a guarantee. Buy flights late or in changeable fares, and read the cancellation terms.

Port Canaveral: Orlando nonstop, and a cruise that pairs with the parks

The port is reached through Orlando International Airport, which Air Canada, Air Transat and WestJet serve nonstop from Montreal-Trudeau, followed by about an hour by road to the terminal. That is the most concrete Quebec argument here: a few days in central Florida slot in before or after the sailing, inside the same booking. The announced programme alternates seven- and fourteen-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages, with Ocean Cay, Nassau, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Turk and Puerto Plata among the named calls. Summer 2028 stays at the same homeport, with nothing published beyond.

Ocean Cay expands just in time for the inaugural season

MSC is enlarging its Bahamian island by late 2027: a lengthened pier taking two ships at once, four more restaurants and bars, the Seakers Cove family beach, the adults-only Paradise Sands and more cabanas. Ships berth alongside rather than tendering, and Yacht Club guests have Ocean House Beach to themselves. The schedule lands exactly in time for this ship's first season, which reads well on paper and deserves a second check before it is promised, because island projects run late too.

The Yacht Club, the LNG question and how much French to expect

Two ships to weigh against her

MSC World Europa shows what this class actually feels like in service, with four years of hindsight and verifiable reviews. MSC Seashore offers the other approach to the Caribbean, the one from the previous generation: a smaller ship, open to the outdoors, available now rather than in 2027.

Who should skip MSC World Atlantic

She will not suit anyone who wants to sail before autumn 2027, nor anyone who needs a deck plan before paying a deposit. For a 2026 or early 2027 holiday, the Miami-based sister ship is bookable today, with real reviews and nonstop flights from Montreal. She will not suit travellers chasing quiet: the World class carries well over six thousand guests.
